HGV Technician

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Technician to join our clients  maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles to ensure they meet all safety and operational standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• 
  Carry out PMI (Preventative Maintenance Inspections) on HGV vehicles
  
  
  

• 
  Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify faults or potential issues
  
  
  

• 
  Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  
  
  

• 
  Complete brake testing in line with safety and compliance standards
  
  
  

• 
  Undertake fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly work where required
  
  
  

• 
  Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and parts used
  
  
  

• 
  Assist with preventative maintenance programmes to minimise vehicle downtime
  
  
  

• 
  Support equipment repair and general workshop maintenance
  
  
  

• 
  Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations and company standards
  
  
  

Experience & Skills Required

• 
  Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or in a similar heavy vehicle maintenance role
  
  
  

• 
  Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
  
  
  

• 
  Experience with vehicle systems including brakes, engines, transmissions, and hydraulics
  
  
  

• 
  Ability to complete equipment repairs, assembly, and maintenance tasks
  
  
  

• 
  Comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting when required
  
  
  

• 
  Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  
  
  

•
