Team Leader – Production | Dagenham | Alternating Shifts

Pertemps Recruitment is working with a leading automotive manufacturer in Dagenham to recruit a motivated and experienced Team Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role in a busy production environment and make a real impact on the team, the process, and the products that leave the line.

About the Role
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Production Operators and Technical staff, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production every day. You’ll work closely with Planning, Purchasing, and Quality teams to drive delivery and maintain high standards, while supporting your team’s development and wellbeing.

This is the first leadership position within the production area, so it’s perfect for someone looking to take ownership, develop their management skills, and grow within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and develop your team, conducting regular 1:1s and team briefs 

• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high quality and safety standards
  
  
• Champion the use of ERP (Epicor) and People Systems to manage team data, performance, and payroll

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using problem-solving tools (PDCA, 5W2H, Kaizen)

• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and company procedures

• Support efficient resource management, including overtime approvals and cost control

What We’re Looking For 

• ILM Level 3 (or willing to work towards)

• HSE qualification (IOSH, COSHH, or Risk Assessor)

• Experience leading a team in a manufacturing/production environment

• Strong knowledge of quality standards and production processes

• Confident communicator with a people-first approach

• IT literate (ERP, People Systems, Excel
  
  
• Desirable: Automotive manufacturing experience, Lean/Continuous Improvement qualification (Green/Yellow Belt), Epicor ERP experience, First Aid certificate
