Service Engineer

Fire & Security Service Engineer – Sub-Contractor

Location: Calderdale Council Area (Halifax & Bradford)
Start Date: Beginning of May
Rate: £250 – £300 per day 

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer operating on a subcontract (CIS) basis to support a maintenance contract across council-owned buildings within the Calderdale region, including Halifax and Bradford.
Work will be carried out across a variety of sites, including social housing, offices, and public buildings. This role suits an engineer who can work independently and is confident across multiple fire and security systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across fire and security systems
• Service, fault-find, and repair fire alarm systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot CCTV and associated security systems
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Liaise with on-site contacts, including council staff and building managers
• Work safely within occupied buildings

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fire & Security Service Engineer (essential)
• Strong fault-finding skills across fire alarms and CCTV systems
• Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. BS 5839)
• Experience working in commercial/public sector environments
• Full UK driving licence
• Own vehicle, tools, and test equipment
