Compressed hours – 4 days out of 5 working 0700-1730
Contract until 31/03/2026
£14.47 per hour
 
We are recruiting a reliable and hard-working Driver to support Northumbrian Water’s sewage Maintenance Operations. This role primarily involves driving specialist heavy vehicles fitted with operational equipment used for carrying out essential maintenance work across the network. You will be working outdoors in all weather conditions, playing a vital role in keeping critical wastewater infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Operate and drive heavy goods vehicles fitted with specialist sewage maintenance equipment
• Assist with cleansing, jetting, vacuuming, and general maintenance of sewer networks where necessary
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic equipment maintenance
• Work safely in confined spaces and challenging environments when required
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and site contacts
• Accurately complete paperwork, reports, and digital records

 
Requirements

• Valid Cat C1+E or Cat C+E driving licence (essential)
• Experience driving heavy vehicles, ideally with mounted or towed equipment
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices
• Good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the work
• Flexible and dependable approach to working hours and locations
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
