Are you an experienced Maintenance or Engineering Manager ready to take the lead at a large, high-performing manufacturing facility? We’re recruiting for a Site Maintenance Manager to oversee a busy timber processing site in Humbie, East Lothian — a key leadership role with real impact and autonomy.


About the Role

  • As Site Maintenance Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for all mechanical, electrical, and automation maintenance across the site. You’ll lead a skilled team of fitters and electricians, ensuring plant reliability, efficiency, and safety while driving continuous improvement and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Maintenance team to deliver high performance and reliability.
  • Manage all maintenance, asset management, and site engineering activities.
  • Oversee preventive and condition-based maintenance through a CMMS system.
  • Ensure all work meets strict Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Plan and deliver maintenance strategies to maximise uptime and reduce downtime.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, energy use, and project delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean and TPM principles.
  • Partner with Operations to achieve site KPIs and strategic goals.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.


About You
  • Degree or qualification in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in maintenance or engineering management, ideally in heavy industry or manufacturing.
  • Proven success leading teams and driving performance improvements.
  • Strong technical understanding of maintenance systems and reliability engineering.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Passionate about safety, efficiency, and developing people
  • Having a drivers licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial due to the location and shift pattern
