Job Role: Recycling Centre Operative
Location: Lairg/ Bonar Bridge/ Dornoch
Start: ASAP
Contract Length: 8 weeks initially- possibility of extension
Pay Rate: £14.18 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm & Friday 8am-4pm


Key Responsibilities:

• Operate effectively both independently and as part of a team to manage incoming and outgoing waste at the Recycling Centre
• Deliver high standards of customer service, assisting site users and promoting recycling best practices
• Safely operate equipment, including compacting skips, and carry out daily checks with defect reporting
• Conduct routine inspections of the site, including buildings and surfaces, reporting issues and recommending corrective actions
• Maintain a safe and efficient environment by managing traffic flow, upholding housekeeping standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Complete required administrative tasks and undertake additional duties as directed by the Foreperson

Key Skills

• Previous experience working as a Site Operative in a waste or recycling environment
• Full, valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe working practices
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and the public
