Job Description
Location: Bristol
Salary: £28,510 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours)
Hours: 7pm–6am | 4 nights on / 4 nights off
The Role We are recruiting a Nights Support Worker to provide out-of-hours support in an accommodation-based service for young people aged 16–25. You will help maintain a safe, supportive environment and support residents to move towards positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and security of the building and residents
- Provide housing management, welfare advice, and practical support
- Engage with young people, offering guidance, emotional support, and signposting
- Carry out room and building checks and report repairs
- Maintain accurate records, including incidents and risk assessments
- Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns
- Manage low-level anti-social behaviour
- Experience working with young people, particularly those with complex needs or homelessness in Support Worker role
- Knowledge of safeguarding, housing, welfare benefits, and risk management
- Confident lone worker with strong communication skills
- Able to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries
- Flexible to work nights and weekends
- Level 3 qualification (or working towards) in youth work, health & social care, mental health, or housing
- IT literate with good written skills
- Desirable: Safeguarding, Mental Health First Aid, or coaching qualifications
- Ofsted-registered supported accommodation service
- DBS check required
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
