Line Operator / Machine Technician
FMCG Manufacturing | Near Carlisle | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

 
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding FMCG manufacturer based near Carlisle. Due to continued growth and a busy seasonal uplift, we’re looking for reliable and motivated Line Operators and Machine Technicians to join the production team.

 
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with real long-term prospects. Successful candidates will initially join on an ongoing temporary basis, with a clear pathway to permanent employment for those who demonstrate commitment and capability.

 
With realistic annual earnings exceeding £40,000 — and the opportunity to increase this further through overtime and shift premiums — this is a role that rewards hard work.

 
 What You’ll Be Doing 
As a key member of the production team, your responsibilities will include:

 

•  Setting up and operating automated production and bottling machinery

•  Ensuring correct product specifications and labelling are in place before each run

•  Monitoring production output to meet quality and performance standards

•  Carrying out in-process quality checks and visual inspections

•  Maintaining high hygiene and safety standards at all times

•  Replenishing packaging materials and line components

•  Assisting with changeovers and equipment adjustments

•  Identifying minor faults and either resolving them or escalating appropriately

 

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in maintaining high standards.

 Shift Pattern & Hours 

•  12-hour continental shifts

•  Rotating 4 on / 4 off pattern

•  Days (06:00–18:00) and Nights (18:00–06:00)

•  Flexibility to work both shift types is essential

Paid breaks are included within your shift.

 Pay & Benefits 

•  Equivalent annual earnings circa £40,000+

•  Opportunity to earn £42,000+ with overtime and bonuses

• •  Sunday: from £27+ per hour
    
    •  Saturday: from £20+ per hour

 Who We’re Looking For 

•  Previous production, manufacturing, or machine operating experience preferred

•  Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

•  Comfortable working 12-hour shifts

•  Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

•  Team player with a proactive attitude
