What does the job entail?

This is an exciting opportunity to support Warwickshire County Council's Energy and Environment Team during a key transition period. We're seeking an experienced and motivated data analyst to provide temporary part-time support while the service recruits to the permanent position.
You will play a critical role in managing energy and utility data and supporting income generation through renewable assets. Your analysis will directly contribute to meeting the Council's environmental objectives and emissions reduction targets.
You will also assist in the preparation and submission of Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) funding bids - helping to secure future investment in sustainable infrastructure across our property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure properties are accurately added/removed from WCC utility contracts.
  • Import and manage utility data through Systems Link software.
  • Monitor renewable energy asset meter reads and coordinate timely income-generating invoices.
  • Conduct energy data reviews and develop trend analysis against CO? emissions.
  • Produce high-quality reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support the preparation of successful PSDS grant funding applications.

What we are looking for

You will be a confident and detail-oriented data professional with a passion for energy and sustainability. You should have strong experience working with complex datasets, reporting platforms, and energy management systems.
You'll need to demonstrate the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and interpret trend data to support operational and strategic decisions.
Previous experience supporting funding applications such as PSDS or similar public-sector schemes will be a strong advantage.

Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting and trend identification
  • Working knowledge of utility management systems (e.g. Systems Link)
  • Understanding of renewable energy metering and billing processes
  • Familiarity with carbon reporting and energy performance monitoring
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience contributing to successful funding applications (e.g., PSDS)
