JOB TITLE: Private Client Partner
PQE REQUIRED: 8+
LOCATION: Oxfordshire
SALARY: £90 - £130K DOE

THE ROLE:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established succession and tax team, ranked in the Legal 500 and serving a strong client base across the wider Thames Valley region. This role is positioned at Partner level and will suit a highly technical and commercially minded lawyer looking to take on greater strategic responsibility within a collaborative and respected practice. You will advise on a broad range of private client matters including the preparation of wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate planning covering inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax considerations and the creation of lifetime trusts. The role will also involve obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration, administering complex estates including foreign domicile and intestate estates, preparing deeds of variation and family arrangements, and providing trust structuring advice. You will work closely with a dedicated trust and tax team who support the administration and compliance aspects, allowing you to focus on advisory and client-facing work. Hybrid working is supported, typically with two to three days office attendance depending on business need.

THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will have a strong and established background in wills, probate and estate planning, with experience managing an independent caseload and advising high-net-worth clients. A STEP qualification is preferred, or a clear commitment to obtaining it where appropriate. You will be technically strong, commercially aware and confident in building and maintaining client relationships. Leadership qualities are essential, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior colleagues, collaborate across departments and develop relationships with third-party introducers. A flexible, organised and professional approach, combined with excellent communication skills and a commitment to exceptional client care, will be key to success in this role.

THE FIRM:
This is a respected and forward-thinking firm with a strong reputation in private client work. The team benefits from high-quality instructions, a collaborative culture and a clear focus on long-term client relationships. The firm provides a supportive environment where senior lawyers are encouraged to develop their profile, contribute to strategic growth and build a sustainable practice within a well-established regional platform.

PACKAGE:
Competitive remuneration package, comprehensive benefits and flexible hybrid working arrangements, together with genuine scope for leadership and further growth within the firm.
