Job Description

We are recruiting for a Java Developer on contract to work for a leading Defence organisation. The role is based in Portsmouth 3 days per week and remote for 2.

Required Skills
  • Java Core (version 8+)
  • Spring Boot, Spring Framework - Good knowledge of Developing in Spring with Hibernate
  • Good Knowledge of developing REST within HTTPS
  • Experience of developing within a microservice architecture
  • Web Services using RESTful APIs
  • Distributed systems
  • Knowledge and use of software design patterns
  • Agile Development Processes
  • CI/CD delivery techniques
  • Source code management (we use GIT)
  • Use of Issue tracking systems (such as Jira)
  • UML/SysML using Enterprise Architect or similar
  • Ability to self-motivate and to work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to promote innovation in self and others
  • Ability to interact with internal & external stakeholders in a confident and professional manner
Java based solution
Latest version of Java 16 would be best however version 8+ is fine
Worked with microservices,
REST interface and REST
GIT Jira, bitbucket.
Modelling language, SysML
5 plus years’ experience
Web based development
Experience with JSF, java front end is beneficial
