SEND Teaching Assistant – Gateshead

The Education Network is working with a school in the Gateshead area that are seeking a SEND TA to join their team from November 2025 until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of the role progressing further.

About the Role 

• Supporting students with SEN needs, helping them to engage with lessons and develop positive coping strategies. 

• Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to create a structured and supportive environment. 

• Using de-escalation techniques and a positive approach to behaviour management. 

• Building strong relationships with students to help them achieve their potential. 

Requirements: 

• A Teaching Assistant qualification is essential for this role.  

• A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach. 

• Strong communication and teamwork skills. 

• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
