Job Title: CNC Turner
Location: Leicester (LE3)
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 18:00–06:00
Pay: £22.20 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)

We are partnering with a leading precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CNC Turner for their night shift team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled machinists with aerospace or automotive experience to operate Mazak 1600 Turning Lathes in a high-precision environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate Mazak 1600 CNC Turning Lathes to produce precision aerospace/automotive components.
• Interpret and control CNC programs to ensure correct setup and operation.
• Set datums, tool lengths, and wear offsets accurately.
• Install tooling and workholding in line with procedures.
• Maintain quality output, performing in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, CMM, shadow graphs, etc.).
• Follow structured manufacturing plans and production schedules.
• Conduct Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and daily machine checks.
• Work collaboratively to maximise machine utilisation and efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC turning within aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering.
• Apprentice-trained or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC code, SOPs, and regulated manufacturing documentation.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and quality-focused.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team player with effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
