Job Description

Finance & Office Manager
Managing Director
Hours Required:
Full Time – 36.25 hours per week
(8:50am to 4:50pm Monday–Friday with 45 minutes lunch)
Summary of the Role
Responsible for overseeing financial operations and day-to-day office management, including accounts, payroll, HR, and administrative functions to ensure efficient business performance.Role Details
  • Sales ledger processing
  • Production of monthly manual ledgers, cashbooks, and P&L (via Excel)
  • Production of year-end reporting in association with external accountants
  • Cashflow management
  • Credit control
  • Payroll processing (x3)
  • Pension administration
  • VAT, CIS, and RTI returns
  • Bonus administration (attendance and estimating)
  • Share management
  • Management of two direct staff members (cost clerk and purchase ledger administrator)
  • HR support including disciplinaries, salary reviews, and ad-hoc HR requirements
  • Responsibility for IT, phones, and internet service providers
  • Strategic support including overhead cost reduction and operational improvements
  • Additional duties including:
    • Workwear and training matrix
    • Holiday records and archiving
    • Health screening and apprentice management
    • Clocking system and petty cash
    • Fleet administration
    • Job analysis (CCA)
    • New system implementation and procedure writing
    • Retentions collection
    • Utility negotiations
    • Phone answering
    • Website and LinkedIn updates
    • Management council responsibilities



Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Relevant on-the-job experience
