Building Surveyor 
Location: Edinburgh
Rate of pay: £25.36 - £30.02 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday 36 hours per week
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Start Date: ASAP

Please note that this role requires a minimum of 1 day working in the office and site visits across the city.

About the Role
We are seeking a qualified RICS Chartered Surveyor to play a key role in supporting property acquisitions aimed at addressing the current housing crisis. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping secure suitable residential properties for community use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess property listings to identify suitable acquisition opportunities
  • Analyse Home Reports and other property documentation
  • Arrange and attend property viewings
  • Conduct site visits and inspections of properties on the market
  • Undertake property surveys and provide professional assessments
  • Prepare detailed reports for internal stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice on property valuations and recommend appropriate bid levels
  • Advise on whether to proceed with offers based on condition, value, and strategic fit

About You
  • RICS Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS)
  • Strong knowledge of residential property markets and valuation principles
  • Experience in property inspection, surveying, and reporting
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
