We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy depot in Chawston, Bedfordshire for a well-established company within the modular buildings and site accommodation industry.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with practical maintenance skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced yard environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and repairing modular cabins and welfare units to ensure they are ready for hire and meet company standards.

Key Duties

• Cleaning, painting and carrying out general maintenance on cabins and units
• Servicing mobile welfare units
• Assisting with minor repairs and occasional site work if required
• Checking returned furniture and equipment and storing correctly
• Supporting the safe loading and unloading of cabins and materials
• Keeping the yard and workshop clean and organised
• Following health and safety procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in general maintenance, plumbing, joinery, electrical work or handyman work
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work in a busy environment
• Practical, hands-on approach to work
• Good teamwork and communication skills
