Sheridan Maine Accounting & Finance is partnering with a market-leading manufacturing business in Christchurch, Dorset to recruit a Temporary Management Accountant.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant / Finance Analyst to step into a fast-paced environment and support the finance function across reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial insight and supporting operational decision-making.
 
As a Management Accountant, you will support the delivery of high-quality financial information and provide insight to improve business performance.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Producing detailed variance analysis with clear commentary for senior stakeholders
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Involvement in cost accounting, including overhead allocation, product costing, and margin analysis
• Monitoring project spend and reporting on actual vs budget performance
• Partnering with operational teams to drive cost control and efficiency improvements
• Supporting financial reporting for senior management and external stakeholders
• Assisting with year-end audit and preparation of supporting schedules
• Developing financial models and analysis to support business decisions
• Supporting cash flow forecasting and working capital management

 
To be considered for this Temporary Management Accountant job, you will have:

• CIMA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or QBE with strong relevant experience
• Proven experience in a management accounting or finance business partnering role
• Previous exposure to manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments (highly desirable)
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work to tight deadlines
