Accounts Manager - Practice

This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-experienced accountant to take on a client-facing, hands-on role with responsibility for managing a portfolio and supporting a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Manager include:

• Define engagement objectives, issue engagement letters, agree timelines, and deliverables.
• Lead planning decisions regarding resourcing, team responsibilities, timelines, budget, and WIP tracking.
• Review the staff resourcing planner and coordinate with other departments to meet departmental needs.
• Schedule work in alignment with client timelines and deliverables.
• Assign and supervise team members during fieldwork, ensuring guidance and on-the-job training.
• Review planning documents, working papers, and completion materials to prepare files for partner review.
• Resolve technical accounting or disclosure issues, seeking specialist input where necessary.
• Assist partners with billing, WIP reporting, and fee management.
• Prepare quotes and tender documentation as needed.
• Ensure effective on-the-job training for team members.

 
Candidate Profile:

• ACA, ACCA qualified with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a UK practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, tax compliance, and reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and oversee workflows.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage, mentor and develop junior team members.
