Job Description

Make a real difference behind the scenes. Join Thames Water as a Resource Coordinator and play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly. You’ll be right at the heart of planning and scheduling, making sure the right work gets to the right people at the right time. It’s a fast-paced role where your organisation and communication skills will really make an impact on both our teams and our customers.

What you’ll be doing as a Resource Coordinator
  • You’ll be responsible for creating and dispatching maintenance tasks, making sure work is prioritised correctly and completed on time.
  • You’ll coordinate reactive work and emergency requests, ensuring everything meets SLA targets and is handled efficiently.
  • You’ll manage and schedule third-party appointments, working closely with contractors and internal teams to keep everything aligned.
  • You’ll act as a key point of contact between field teams, planners, and stakeholders, helping to keep communication clear and consistent.
  • You’ll monitor progress, follow up on incomplete work, and make sure any issues are escalated and resolved quickly.
  • You’ll support the wider team by helping reduce backlogs and keeping schedules accurate and up to date.

Base location: Kemble Court, Reading

Working hours: 28.8 hours per week, Monday to Friday  (can be flexible) with shifts between 07:00–15:00

What you should bring to the role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn systems such as SAP, Click and Salesforce.
  • A proactive approach with a sense of ownership and accountability for your work.
  • Ability to analyse information and spot potential issues before they become problems.
