Job Title: Part-Time Domestic Assistant
Location: Children’s Centres (various community locations)
Pay Rate: £14.71 per hour
Working Hours: 12.5 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 05:00am – 07:30am
Contract Type: Part-time, temporary (6-month contract with potential to extend)
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS check required

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and caring Part-Time Domestic Assistant to contribute to the efficient and effective running of Children’s Centres that provide a wide range of services to the local community, including health services. This role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children, families, staff and visitors.

The Domestic Assistant will deliver high-quality cleaning and care of the centre, undertaking most aspects of general domestic duties and some specialist cleaning tasks. While the role is not directly involved in service delivery, it indirectly contributes to the wellbeing and care of service users who access the centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning duties to a high standard, ensuring all areas of the centre are clean, hygienic and well maintained
• Undertake specialist cleaning tasks as required, in line with health and safety procedures
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate tact and professionalism at all times
• Contribute to a safe, welcoming and caring environment for children, families and staff

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in domestic or cleaning duties
• A caring, considerate and professional approach
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Understanding of the importance of confidentiality within a children’s and community setting
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
