We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who require additional help with emotional regulation, social skills, and positive engagement with learning.

This is a rewarding role where you will become a key adult in a child’s school life — helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

Your Role Will Include:

✔ Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring for pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs
✔ Supporting children with emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and social skills
✔ Implementing behaviour support plans in collaboration with teachers and the SENCO
✔ Assisting pupils during lessons, transitions, playtimes, and unstructured periods
✔ Using de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour calmly and safely
✔ Building positive, consistent relationships that promote trust and stability
✔ Monitoring progress and providing feedback to school staff and the agency

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

🔹 Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, mentoring, care, coaching, etc.)
🔹 A calm, patient and resilient approach
🔹 Strong communication and relationship-building skills
🔹 Understanding of behaviour management or SEMH needs (desirable)
🔹 A proactive and team-focused attitude
🔹 A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
