About the Role:

A highly regarded specialist school in Kingston upon Thames, supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs, is seeking an Aspiring Clinical Psychologist to join their multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate, trainee, or experienced support professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a specialist education setting.

You will support the school in understanding the emotional, social, and developmental needs of children, contributing to personalised strategies to enhance communication, confidence, and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, speech and language therapists, and teaching staff to support children’s development.
  • Observe, assess, and provide insights on children’s emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
  • Assist in designing and delivering personalised intervention strategies.
  • Maintain detailed records of observations, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Support staff and parents with guidance on child development and wellbeing.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to a holistic approach to SEN provision
Who should apply:
  • Degree in Psychology or related field; postgraduate or trainee experience preferred.
  • Interest in speech, language, and communication development in children.
  • Experience working with children in educational or therapeutic settings is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and observational skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
