Children’s Social Worker – Isle of Sheppey
Location: Isle of Sheppey
Rate: Up to £38 per hour
Contract: Full-time
Pertemps is seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join the Children & Families team in the Isle of Sheppey. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, while managing a varied caseload of complex work.
Role Responsibilities:

• Manage a Children & Families caseload at varying levels of complexity.
• Undertake assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Contribute to the effective application of resources to safeguard and support children and their families.
• Ensure practice is in line with the Social Care Capability Framework (SCCF).

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification).
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Previous experience in childrens services 

Knowledge and Expertise:

• Working knowledge of child development and ability to underpin practice with a strong theoretical base (including attachment theory and the needs of Looked After Children, Children in Need, and those subject to Child Protection).
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, frameworks, and regulations.
• Understanding of local authority procedures relating to Looked After Children, Children in Need, and Child Protection.
• Awareness of family court proceedings and the associated social work role.
• Knowledge of factors affecting adults that may impact children, including mental health, domestic violence, and substance misuse.
