EHC Assessment and Review Co-ordinator - London
Rate: £300 per day 
Location: Agile working – based at Town Hall, Hornton Street, Kensington
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Authority: City of Westminster (working across Bi-Borough arrangements with Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea)
Service: Special Educational Needs (SEN)

About the Role Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking London local authority for an experienced EHC Assessment and Review Co-ordinator to join their Education, Health and Care (EHC) Service.

This is a pivotal statutory role supporting children and young people aged 0–25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload and play a central role in delivering high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in line with statutory duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload of children and young people with EHCPs.
  • Draft high-quality, person-centred and outcome-focused EHC Plans.
  • Process annual reviews within statutory timeframes.
  • Ensure EHC needs assessments are completed within the 20-week statutory deadline.
  • Coordinate multi-agency contributions across education, health and social care.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with families, schools, SENCOs and partner agencies.
  • Oversee Looked After Children (LAC) cases and transitions into adult social care.
  • Manage high-cost out-of-borough placements and EOTAS arrangements.
  • Support Tribunal preparation, complaint responses and service development initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation, including statutory processes.
  • Proven experience managing SEND casework within a local authority or related setting.
  • Demonstrable experience drafting EHCPs to a high standard.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet statutory deadlines.
  • Confident in multi-agency working and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Degree-level qualification (SEND-specific qualifications desirable).
