Job Title: SEND Case Officer
Location: Camden, London (Hybrid – 2-3 days on site per week)
Job Type: Full-time, Interim (3-6 months initial contract)
Pay Rate: £280 - £350 per day (Umbrella, dependent on experience)
About the Role:
Camden Council is seeking an experienced and committed SEND Case Officer to join their dynamic SEND Service. This is a crucial role in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring the effective delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in line with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with EHCPs, ensuring all statutory duties are met within required timescales.
  • Coordinate and lead multi-agency meetings, including Annual Reviews and EHCP assessments.
  • Liaise effectively with parents/carers, schools, educational settings, and health and social care professionals.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date and legally compliant with SEND Code of Practice.
  • Work collaboratively to identify and resolve placement issues, provision gaps, and transitions.
  • Maintain accurate casework records using Camden’s case management system.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a SEND Case Officer or within a SEND statutory assessment team in a local authority setting.
  • In-depth understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
  • Strong organisational and case management skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience working within Camden or a similar London borough.
  • Familiarity with Camden’s internal case management systems (e.g., Synergy).
