Job Description
An Alternative Provision in East Birmingham is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join their outstanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed teacher with strong behaviour management skills who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
As a Science Teacher in this setting, you will teach small groups of Key Stage 3 and 4 students, delivering engaging and practical lessons that bring science to life. Students may have faced barriers to learning in mainstream education, so creativity, resilience, and a nurturing approach are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Using creative strategies and practical activities to engage and inspire students
- Supporting students to achieve GCSE outcomes and build confidence in their learning
- Creating a positive and structured learning environment
- Working closely with a supportive leadership team and experienced colleagues
- Building strong relationships with students and helping them re-engage with education
- QTS and experience teaching science at GCSE Level
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage learners with SEMH needs
- A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning
- The ability to motivate, inspire, and support students who may lack confidence
- A genuine commitment to helping young people succeed
