SEND Primary Teacher – Special School – South Birmingham
A welcoming and supportive special school in South Birmingham is seeking a passionate SEND Primary Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of primary-aged pupils with a range of complex learning needs.

As a SEND Primary Teacher, you will deliver a creative and engaging primary curriculum tailored to the individual needs of pupils. Working in small classes with strong support from experienced teaching assistants and specialist staff, you will ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities include:
  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons that support a range of learning needs.
  • Creating a nurturing and structured classroom environment.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to deliver effective support.
  • Developing pupils’ communication, social, and independence skills.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies.
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation and wellbeing alongside academic progress.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • QTS and experience teaching in a SEND or mainstream primary setting.
  • Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with Autism, MLD, and complex needs.
  • A flexible and creative approach to teaching and planning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children with SEND.
