Job Description
Are you an experienced school leader with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? This warm and welcoming special school in Birmingham is seeking an Interim Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team as soon as possible. As an Interim Assistant Headteacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to manage staff, oversee teaching and learning, and ensure that high standards of care and education are maintained across the school. You will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing environment where pupils with a range of complex learning needs can thrive both academically and personally.
Job Role:
- Working collaboratively with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to lead day-to-day operations
- Supporting and developing teaching staff to deliver high-quality, inclusive education
- Overseeing teaching, learning, and pastoral support for pupils with complex needs
- Ensuring that all pupils receive a personalised, nurturing education tailored to their needs
- Contributing to school improvement planning and the implementation of SEND best practice
- Building strong relationships with staff, pupils, parents, and external professionals
