Job Description
A welcoming and nurturing special school in Coleshill is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team, supporting children with a range of special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a SEN Teacher who is passionate about making a meaningful difference and helping pupils thrive in a calm, supportive learning environment.
The SEN Teacher will work with small classes of pupils with additional needs, delivering engaging and carefully adapted lessons that support both academic progress and personal development. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants and a leadership team that values collaboration, staff wellbeing, and high-quality provision for every pupil.
The role will suit a SEN Teacher who is confident differentiating the curriculum, building positive relationships, and creating a structured yet caring classroom environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs
- Teaching small classes of pupils with autism, MLD, and additional learning needs
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants to provide consistent and effective support
- Creating a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching children with special educational needs (desirable but not essential)
- A calm, patient, and flexible approach to teaching
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to supporting pupils with SEN
