Job Description
A well-established special school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join their team and teach small classes of students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Special Needs Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and wants to make a genuine difference.
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will deliver engaging and highly differentiated lessons in a supportive, well-resourced environment. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants and a strong leadership team who are committed to providing outstanding outcomes for both students and staff.
Job Role:
- Teaching small classes of students with special educational needs
- Planning and delivering personalised lessons to meet individual needs
- Creating a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Supporting students’ academic, social and emotional development
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and support staff
- Monitoring progress and contributing to individual learning plans
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
- Experience teaching students with SEND in a school setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A patient, flexible and nurturing approach
- A genuine commitment to supporting students with additional needs
