Job Description
A well-regarded SEND school in Central Birmingham is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to teach small classes of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and enjoys delivering Maths in a supportive, well-structured specialist setting.
As a Maths Teacher, you will work with students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional learning needs. Classes are small and well supported, allowing you to build strong relationships and tailor your teaching to meet individual needs.
The Role:
- Teaching Maths to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students in a SEND setting
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated Maths lessons
- Adapting the curriculum to meet a range of learning needs
- Creating a calm, structured and positive learning environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
- Monitoring progress and supporting students to achieve outcomes
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths at KS3 and KS4
- Experience teaching students with SEND (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, flexible and inclusive approach
- Small class sizes and high levels of classroom support
