Job Description
A two-form entry primary school in South Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 6 Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Key Stage 2 teacher who is passionate about raising attainment and preparing pupils for a successful transition to secondary school.
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will work alongside a parallel class teacher, sharing planning, ideas and best practice within a supportive year group team. The school promotes high expectations, strong behaviour and a positive learning culture where pupils are encouraged to achieve their best. This role requires QTS and is not suitable for an ECT.
The Role:
- Teaching a Year 6 class within a two-form entry structure
- Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
- Preparing pupils for SATs and supporting transition to secondary school
- Using assessment effectively to drive progress and attainment
- Working collaboratively with the parallel Year 6 teacher and wider Key Stage 2 team
- Creating a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
- Strong understanding of SATs preparation and assessment
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach to planning and teamwork
- A supportive two-form entry structure with shared planning
- A strong and collaborative Key Stage 2 team
- Excellent behaviour and a positive school culture
