Job Description
Are you a QTS English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to support students with additional learning needs? Do you want to teach small classes where you can adapt your teaching and make a real impact? This outstanding special school is looking to appoint a dedicated English Teacher to teach students with Autism and associated learning needs in a welcoming and supportive environment.
As an English Teacher at this school, you will teach small classes of students with a range of additional needs, delivering engaging and highly differentiated lessons that support literacy, communication and confidence. The school benefits from outstanding facilities and access to excellent resources, allowing you to deliver creative and effective lessons tailored to individual needs.
You will work closely with experienced Teaching Assistants and a supportive leadership team to create a structured and inclusive classroom where students feel safe, valued and able to succeed. Previous experience working in a SEND setting is desirable but not essential for the right teacher. This role requires an English Teacher who holds QTS or QTLS.
Job Role:
- Teaching English to small classes of students with Autism and associated learning needs
- Planning and delivering differentiated and engaging lessons
- Supporting students’ literacy, communication and confidence
- Creating a structured, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants to support engagement and progress
- Using a range of strategies and resources to meet individual needs
- Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
- Contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Teach small classes with excellent staff-to-pupil ratios
- Work in a school with outstanding facilities and resources
- Be part of a supportive and collaborative staff team
- Receive ongoing support from an experienced leadership team
- Be paid to scale in line with experience
- Develop your SEND teaching expertise
