English Academic Coach

*** English Academic Coach
*** September 2025 to July 2026
*** £82–£100 per day
*** ‘Good’ secondary school, Wolverhampton
*** Fantastic experience prior to teacher training

As an English Academic Coach, you’ll work with students across KS3 and KS4, delivering focused support to boost reading, writing, and GCSE preparation. You’ll run small group sessions and 1:1 interventions, helping pupils strengthen key skills, improve essay structure, and build confidence in English. You’ll work alongside English teachers to identify learning gaps, adapt resources, and contribute to a culture of academic excellence.

You’re a graduate with a degree in English or a related subject and a clear interest in education. You’ve got a strong grasp of grammar, analysis, and communication, and you enjoy helping others understand and express ideas. Experience with young people—through tutoring, mentoring, or school work—is a strong advantage. You’re reliable, motivated, and ready to make a difference in the classroom.

This ‘Good’ secondary school in Wolverhampton has a strong record of pupil progress and a supportive approach to staff development. The English department is experienced, collaborative, and committed to raising standards. The school offers structured guidance for graduates preparing for a PGCE or teacher training, making it an ideal setting to learn, contribute, and grow.
