Job Description
Invigilator
Could flexible exam-season work in a school suit you? Are you someone who can stay alert, follow procedures properly, and help create the quiet, controlled environment students need during assessments?
*** Invigilator
*** £12.71 per hour (2, 3, 4, 6, 7-hour shifts)
*** Secondary school, central Birmingham
*** Exam support through May-June
*** Enhanced DBS required
The Role:
Join the school’s exams team for the summer assessment period, helping with room checks, candidate supervision, exam paper distribution, start and finish procedures, and the collection of scripts. The JCQ guidance for 2025 to 2026 states that invigilators are responsible for conducting examinations in the presence of candidates and helping protect the integrity of the exam process.
The Candidate:
You are dependable, sharp-eyed, and comfortable working to clear instructions. You do not need to be loud or overbearing, but you do need good judgement, a professional manner, and the ability to stay focused for the full shift. This role suits someone who wants flexible work in education and can be counted on when standards matter.
Requirements
The School:
This secondary school in central Birmingham needs dependable invigilation support during the busiest part of the academic year. You will step into a well-organised setting where expectations are clear, systems are established, and your contribution will directly support the smooth running of internal and external exams.
How to Apply
Apply today with your CV to be considered for this Invigilator role. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to discuss next steps and arrange interview. Early applications are encouraged, as the school may appoint before the closing date.
Due to the high number of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted.
