*** Secondary school, Ward of Hall Green
*** 1:1 and small group academic support to improve attainment levels
 
The Role:
Support pupils who need extra help in English through 1:1 work and small-group intervention. You will focus on reading, writing, comprehension, and exam preparation, while reinforcing lesson content and feeding back clearly to teachers. Teaching assistants support teachers in the classroom and help pupils with reading, writing, and learning activities.
 
The Candidate:
You are articulate, organised, and able to explain ideas clearly. You want practical secondary school experience, enjoy helping pupils build confidence in English, and are keen to develop the skills needed for a future in teaching.
 
Requirements
  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate. Enhanced DBS checks are suitable for people working with children and other eligible roles, depending on the duties involved.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.
