SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Essex, East London
Contract: Full-time | Term-time only
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £108 per day

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Essex, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
The school is a secondary school for boys, age 11 to 16 years old, who was recognised by Ofsted as good for the last 3 years.
They offer an education that is exciting and challenging to the students and ensure each student becomes a young man that will shape the future.
 
The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and positive learning behaviours
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support both inside and outside the classroom
  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to implement support strategies
  • Promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour
  • Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
This role provides valuable experience to anyone looking to gain experience in a Secondary school setting.

Person Specification
  • Passionate about supporting children’s wellbeing and development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, nurturing and resilient approach
  • Motivated and eager to learn
  • Experience working with children (school, tutoring, mentoring, youth work or care) is desirable but not essential
