Job Description
Are you a passionate English teacher ready to inspire young minds with the power of language and literature? A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated English Teacher for a full-time, long-term supply position starting in September 2025. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and newly qualified ECTs.
Key Details:
- Position: English Teacher (QTS or ECT welcome)

- Rate: £175–£250 per day (based on experience)
- Contract: Full-time, long-term supply
- Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
The Role:
You’ll be delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop skills in reading, writing, speaking, and critical analysis. The role includes full classroom responsibilities—planning, marking, and assessment—with support from a collaborative department. You’ll prepare students for their GCSEs while encouraging a love for literature and language beyond the curriculum.
The Candidate:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic English specialist with strong curriculum knowledge and excellent classroom management. Whether you're newly qualified or bring years of experience, you should be confident teaching across a range of texts and genres, and able to differentiate effectively to meet the needs of mixed-ability groups. A passion for English and the ability to motivate students is key.
