The Role
We are recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in a range of secondary schools across Birmingham. The role involves supervising whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain on task and complete the set work. You will manage classroom behaviour, support students where needed, and maintain a calm and positive learning environment. Both day-to-day and long-term placements are available, giving you the flexibility to choose the type of assignment that suits your circumstances.
The Candidate
This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced support staff, or anyone with a strong background in working with young people. You should be confident in managing groups of students, adaptable across different subjects, and resilient under pressure. Previous school-based experience is beneficial but not essential, as training and ongoing support will be provided. Strong communication skills and a proactive, professional approach are essential.

We work with a wide network of Birmingham secondary schools, many of which have supportive teams and strong behaviour policies in place. Cover Supervisors are highly valued, playing a vital role in maintaining consistency in teaching and learning. This opportunity also provides an excellent stepping stone into teacher training or other education-based careers.
