Qualified Social Worker – Working Age Adults
📍 Location: Merseyside
💷 Pay Rate: £25 per hour

Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker looking to make a real difference in Adult Social Care? We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our Working Age Adult team, supporting vulnerable adults under the age of 67 with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and enduring mental health conditions. This dynamic and busy service also includes a homelessness Social Worker and oversees Mental Health Act provisions, including the AMHP service. Candidates with AMHP qualification are especially encouraged to apply.
 
Your Role:
As a key member of the team, you will undertake Care Act assessments, safeguarding investigations, COP DOL work, capacity and best interest assessments, reviews, and duty work. Some out-of-hours duties may be required due to the demand for Mental Health Act assessments.
You will work collaboratively with a broad range of professionals, including colleagues from the health board, therapy services, external providers, and families, to ensure person-centred, safe, and effective care. Your assessments and decisions will be informed by social care legislation and local government requirements, guided by the core values of dignity, respect, and empowerment.
 
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience in Adult Social Care
  • Skilled in working with adults and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Knowledgeable of social care and child protection legislation
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach to social work
  • Excellent mediation, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with service users and stakeholders
  • Experience working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary and interagency teams
  • Committed to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes
In This Role You Will:
  • Manage an agreed caseload, making full assessments of risk, protection, and social care needs
  • Develop individualised care plans that respect diversity and promote dignity and empowerment
  • Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students, aiding their development
  • Use your professional expertise to advocate for and achieve the best outcomes for service users
