Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) – Qualified Social Worker

💷 Pay Rate: £40 per hour
🕑 Out-of-hours / Emergency Duty Service
 
Are you an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker and AMHP ready to make a real impact? We’re seeking a committed Approved Mental Health Professional to join a fast-paced, supportive Emergency Duty Mental Health Team in the North West. You’ll play a pivotal role in coordinating urgent mental health assessments, making complex decisions, and ensuring people receive care in the most respectful and least restrictive way possible.
 
 
🔍 Your Role Will Include:

• Responding to urgent mental health referrals during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Leading Mental Health Act assessments, including potential hospital admissions or exploring community-based alternatives.
• Making critical decisions in high-risk situations, balancing individual rights with public safety.
• Working within safeguarding frameworks, applying the Mental Capacity Act, and supporting those at risk of harm.
• Collaborating with crisis teams, medical professionals, and community services to deliver the right care, fast.
• Providing consultation to partner agencies, and taking an active role in team development, supervision, and service improvement.

 
✅ Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification (essential).
• 4 Years plus Qualified
• Degree or equivalent in social work
• Experience in complex adult mental health and safeguarding cases.
• Flexibility to work out-of-hours on a 24/7 rota, including weekends and holidays.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply.
