£32.00 per hour (umbrella)
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Basic DBS required
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Advice / Prevention / Homelessness Assessment Officer to join a busy Housing Options Service in West London.
The Role
- Be part of the Housing Options duty service, completing assessments and managing a varied caseload
- Carry out prevention and relief work in line with statutory duties
- Undertake homelessness enquiries and draft Section 184 decision letters
- Work within a fast-paced, pressurised environment, managing competing demands
- Provide accurate advice in line with housing legislation and statutory guidance
- Strong working knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act, and related legislation
- Proven experience in homelessness assessments, casework, and decision writing
- Ability to hit the ground running within a high-demand Housing Options service
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Initial office-based induction (2–4 weeks, depending on competency)
- After induction, 50% office-based / 50% remote working
- Standard office hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
