Senior Electrical Engineer - Building Services

Role Purpose
Our client, a leading global design and engineering consultancy, is seeking a Chartered Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Places Design Practice. The role exists to deliver high‑quality electrical building services design across a range of complex and innovative projects. The successful candidate will manage technical delivery, support multidisciplinary collaboration, lead small project teams, and ensure that all outputs meet client, quality, financial, and programme expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver efficient, compliant, and innovative electrical building services design solutions.
• Manage the technical aspects of small projects or defined components of larger schemes.
• Ensure work meets agreed quality, budget, and timescale targets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated design solutions.
• Contribute to and present technical proposals to clients.
• Lead reviews and approvals of project deliverables on behalf of the electrical discipline.
• Allocate work, oversee resource utilisation, and support the performance of a team of up to five engineers.
• Maintain strong client relationships and consistently meet or exceed their expectations.
• Support the development, mentoring, and technical growth of junior team members.

Requirements

• BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (essential).
• Demonstrable experience working within an engineering consultancy.
• Strong background in electrical building services design.
• Ability to manage technical delivery and coordinate effectively across disciplines.
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
• Passion for creating sustainable, safe, and high‑quality environments.
