Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well‑established accountancy practice based in Hertfordshire, to recruit a Tax Senior / Assistant Tax Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to take the next step in their career, working with a varied client portfolio and supporting both compliance and advisory work within a collaborative environment.
 
Key Responsibilities of the Tax Senior / Assistant Tax Manager:
  •  Manage and deliver personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work.
  •  Provide proactive tax advice to a mixed portfolio of owner‑managed and SME clients.
  •  Review and prepare tax computations and returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  •  Liaise with HMRC and other stakeholders on client matters.
  •  Support partners with client meetings, technical queries and business development.
  •  Mentor and supervise junior members of the tax team, providing guidance and support. 
 
Skills & Experience Required of the Tax Senior / Assistant Tax Manager: 
  •  ACA / ACCA / CTA (or equivalent) qualified or near qualified.
  •  Proven tax experience within an accountancy practice.
  •  Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate and personal taxation.
  •  Experience managing client relationships and supervising junior staff.
  •  Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
  •  Commercially aware with a proactive and client‑focused approach.
